Lookin' for Adventure

It's so funny to me that Wilder is always lookin' for an adventure.  He's always looking for something cool, in a boy sort of way.  Like today, when we were at the school waiting for Peyton to get out of kindergarten.  We were pretty early, so I got him out of the car so he could run around for a while.  Of course, he's occupied for about 3 minutes on the stairs playing with his new hot wheels, but then remembers that there is a ramp with other stairs on the side of the building and sprints over there (target popcorn in hand), leaving me with the hot wheels and my diet coke.  Me, being the good mother that I am, run to see what he's up to, and I find him trying to cross the street (just a little back road in the parking lot, don't worry) over to the playground while checking out the working men on a roof behind the school.  I wish I could jump into his little head to know what he's thinking. I think I would spend even more of my day laughing at the thoughts he has.  Boys are so funny.  He's so funny..always looking for an adventure.  Today, his adventures at the school led to the disappearance of his shiny new hot wheels...a green race car and a white fire station expedition..dang kindergarteners must have picked them up!

"swing mommy, swing?"

tell me how i get my kid to talk, instead of grunting and pointing. i'm still bummed that brennan lost his mcqueen hot wheels:-( he's only getting hot wheels for christmas. and a really big cardboard box. at least from us;-) i can't control what those grandparents are going to do! (and i'm slightly happy they are going to do it so i don't have to buy clothes for him).
