Another Pioneer Day Celebration

Birkley wanted to celebrate Pioneer Day in a much more non-traditional way....
GETTING HER EARS PIERCED!
About a year ago, we tried to get Birkley to pierce her ears. I took her to the mall, paid for the earrings and the woman even marked her ears, but as soon as she got that piercing gun out, Birkley was out of there! So, I've been harrassing her about it ever since. I had frankly, given up, but the day before Pioneer Day, Birkley woke up wanting to get her ears pierced. Now, I know a lot of you probably think I'm crazy for not making her wait until she was 12 or 8 or 20, but I never really felt strongly about making her wait. My mom was going to make me wait until I was 10 to pierce my ears, but then my best friend, Stephanie, got hers pierced and I finally coersed my mom into letting me. I was maybe 8 or 9. Many of you know I have pierced my own ears a few times (at the mall, not myself) and a couple other things (nothing gross-get your mind out of the gutter), so I didn't feel strongly about making my girls wait. Hence, the ear piercing party we had on Thursday. Birkley's friend Annyka really wanted to get her ears pierced with Birkley, so we called them up and they ran over to the mall to meet us!
