9 Years!

9 Years ago, yesterday, May 14, 1998, Matt and I got married! Yes, it's been 9 years! Some of you may be thinking, how old are you anyway? 9 Years ago on a misty, early, Thursday morning, Matt and I met in the lobby of the Salt Lake Temple and walked hand in hand inside to get married! We were so young, but so ready! Looking back, 9 years has flown by. On that day, 9 years seemed really far away. We had hopes and dreams for what our lives would be like in the future...homes, jobs, kids. I never dreamt it would be this good! I am so blessed! I am married to an amazing, compassionate, strong, hardworking man who is an unbelievable dad. I have 2 awe-inspiring girls who push me in ways I never knew I could be pushed (both good an bad!)! Life is wonderful.

It freaks me out to think about 9 years from now. Matt and I celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary. ONLY OLD PEOPLE HAVE BEEN MARRIED FOR 18 YEARS! Does that mean I will be OLD? I will be 39, talk about mid-life crisis! Pushing 40, is that possible? Where will the wrinkles be? What will be hanging and where? Birkley will be turning 14 years old. Peyton will be turning 12. The pit in my stomach just churns and my heart skips a beat everytime I think about those years to come! What joy will come? What struggles will come? What triumphs? What failures? What happiness? Oh what the future holds!?! I'm choosing not to really think about it!

For now, I am grateful for 9 fabulous years that have brought peace, happiness, tears, success, struggle, babies, loss, jobs, new jobs, friends, old friends, knowledge, romance, testimonies, truth, and above all LOVE. I am grateful to Matt who understands me better than I ever thought possible and who is my hero and my biggest fan! I am grateful for my girls who bring me a joy that is absolutely breathtaking! I am grateful for my life!

And I can still remember the night you ditched all your London buddies to hang out with Matt for the first time (I think it was the first time, atleast that's how I remember it). Nine years, wow--congrats!
