Easter Dinner

So, what are you making for Easter dinner? Every year, we have had Easter dinner at my Grandma's house. But, this year my mom is hosting and she's been out of town all week and won't get back in town until Saturday, so I have offered to bring one of our staple Polish Easter dinner items. Yes, I said Polish. My great-grandmother Tess came to the US when she was about 14 years old. Her Polish name was Tola but we called her Tess. I was named after her, Bree Tola, and I loved visiting her in California everytime we were there as a kid. My great-grandpa Ed smoked cigars and to this day, I love the smell of cigars! Ahh...I digress...

Anyway, back to Easter dinner. We usually have the traditional ham, potatoes of some kind, pork loin, Kielbasa (polish sausage) and Golabki (pronounced Guamki) with an array of non-Polish sides. I love this meal. It's so good for you you can hear your arteries clogging as you swallow!!!! YUM! My mom was threatening not to have Golabki this year, so I had to volunteer to make it. It is one of those meals that looks a lot harder to make than it is. So, in my desire to be more like Marie from Marie's Make & Takes I thought I would blog about my Golabki-making adventure. But, as I was taking a couple pictures of the ingredients and the beef I was cooking, I thought I would just google "Golabki" and see what came up and WOW a whole photo montage to the making of Golabki. So, instead of taking my own photos and rambling on about it, click here to learn all about it! http://krespecki.googlepages.com/greatgolabki!!!

I know you want to be just like me, everyone does!! Great job on the post! But I would love to see your photos too. Also, I remember people calling you Bree-tola in school, but didn't know that was really your middle name. Very cool!
